You can always use cheat to get what you want, that's what I did on one of my game. You can activate them in the launcher menu. In your inventory : ctrl + x -> money. On your caracter sheet : ctrl + x -> 1000xp. In a battle : ctrl + f4 -> kill an ennemy. On the map : ctrl + left click -> teleport.
2. Gift them gold or other stuff when you meet them in the field. The amount of rep you get depends on the size of your gift. (also only works if you don't have negative relation with them! ) 3. This is very counterintuitive but start a war with the kingdom of the lord you want to improve relations with.

How to add a Settlement as a Vassal. Getting to Clan Rank 3 is the first step. You will be able to take new settlement and castles as a vassal. You will need to then join the faction that controls the zone you want. As long as the ruling clan does not absolutely hate you, you should be able to join their kingdom.
The only way to get on top of the aggro is to prisoner and rush or start chopping heads. Destroy the clans and then start, or you will be locked down for a long time. Also as your own kingdom you will never ever have a larger army. So your only choice is to take away parties from them.
